Shooting the breeze with Prabhuuuu

Prabhu who is quite busy these days gave a small interview in spite of his heavy schedule.

Now you are in character roles?

I am getting good [^] characters. I agree when the directors tell me that the role is tailor made for me. Now a few producers and fans are asking me to do hero [^] roles. I have to reduce my weight to do the lead roles. Hence I am in diet these days.

About other language films?

I have already acted in two Malayalam films earlier. Recently because Mammooty requested me I had acted in a Malayalam film Brahmini. Currently I am acting in a Telugu film titled Darling [^] directed by Karunakaran and in a film directed by Bhaskar. This film is being produced by Chiranjeevi’s brother. I am also acting in a Kannada film Boss [^] which has Darsahan in the lead role. This film is directed by Ragu Raja. Language is not a barrier for artists. Only if you act in all the languages, you can feel the difference.

Will you produce a film which has Kamal hassan and Rajnikanth in the cast?

Rajni and Kamal are elder brothers of our family. It will be a great boon for me if both of them act. But I cannot decide about it. It is they who should decide about it.

Is it same trend now like the days when you were hero?

Cinema will not always be the same. This will change according to the time [^]. We cannot avoid this. There is always good reception for good film. But sentiments will never change.

What will be your next production after Asal?

Asal is doing well at the box office. Discussions are going on about our next film. Nothing has been decided yet.

You can give chances to new faces?

G M Kumar was introduced by us in the film [^] Aruvadai [^] Naal and Raj Kapoor were introduced in the film Thalattu Kedkudamma. 53 new directors were introduced by us in the 170 films I have acted. Definitely [^] there is chance who brings us good story.
